Our Culture

Know You Can

Our Purpose

Pride in our purpose drives everything we do; we call it the Know You Can mindset.

We're passionate about protecting what matters, so if you are too, you've come to the right place. We want great technical skills, but you don’t need experience in insurance/financial services or a degree to thrive here (unless your role specifically needs one). Whatever your lifestyle, lifestage, experience, perspective and background you'll fit right in. AXA's a place where everyone's welcome and belongs.

Shape the way you work

At AXA you can shape the way you work best – we call it 'SMART' working. We know one size doesn't fit all so depending on our customer's needs, your unique circumstances and how your team operates we offer a blend of home and office-based working.

If full time work isn't right for you, don't forget to explore our flexible working options too – these include part time and condensed hours. You can discuss options at your interview.

Thrive within a diverse community

3 of our Senior leaders have been recognised in the 2021 HERoes Women Role Model list in recognition of their commitment to changing insurance. We're rising above stereotypes to create a dynamic and inclusive culture. We're on a journey but we're proud of our achievements so far. We're already a disability confident employer, support our LGBT employees through award winning initiatives like Stride for Pride. We mentor our ethnic minority talent towards leadership, and are working towards Menopause Friendly Workplace accreditation.

Grow your potential

At AXA there's a world of career opportunities. Progress in our business units– Health, Retail, Commercial, or be part of our Corporate Centre of Excellence or Claims functions. Alongside technical training and professional qualifications you can do an apprenticeship at any age, participate in one of our mentoring schemes and have access to a great learning and development programme including LinkedIn Learning.

Move the world forward

At AXA, we support our customers and people to have the confidence to progress. We protect what matters. Health, Home, Vehicles, Business, Communities and the planet. From our global Climate Academy, charity partnerships and local initiatives like litter picking. We look after our people, communities and the environment. To deliver great customer experiences we need to make sure we're in great shape too. So, we've developed our employee wellbeing programme to support us with our physical, emotional and financial health.

Meet our People

We're nothing without our people. It's cheesy but true.

So, to support you, just like we make a promise to all our customers, we make a promise to all of you. From the moment you walk through our doors, we'll help you realise your potential to drive progress.

Our AXA employee stories and videos give you a flavour of what it's like to work here.

Life at AXA

Our Values

Our values shape what we do and how we do it. They inspire us, guide us and empower us to work together, push the boundaries, challenge things for the better and believe in ourselves. No matter how big or small our achievements, our values sit at the heart of everything we do.

Customer first

All our thinking starts with the customer

We are guided by strong moral principles

We speak our mind and act to make things happen

Being together and being different makes us better

We have an ambition to become one of the most inspiring companies to work for. Everyone has something different to bring to the table, and by appreciating those differences we can attract the best people, develop and use their talents and create a great place to work. We all have a role to play in ensuring a working environment in which everyone, regardless of who they are, can reach their true potential. And as we celebrate how far we have come, we keep looking at how we can be better.

Tracy Garrad, CEO AXA Health and Executive Sponsor for Diversity & Inclusion

Tracy Garrad, CEO AXA Health and executive sponsor for diversity and inclusion

As the executive sponsor for diversity and inclusion in Axa uk and Ireland, I am passionately committed to achieving a more diverse and inclusive culture in our workplace and let me tell you why. Firstly, of course, it’s about fairness, it’s the right thing to do, but it goes way beyond that and comes down to just good business. The key to innovation and success is found in properly accessing The diversity of ideals and capabilities found within the full Bretts of society. So it stands to reason, that if our talent pool is limited, we are in fact limiting ourselves as an organisation and limiting the benefits we can bring to those we serve. It’s for this reason that addressing diversity and inclusion is one of the highest priorities for our business, and that is why you can see us stepping up our actions. As sponsor, I’ve been delighted with the level of engagement and the willingness to share our thoughts on how we’ve done in the past, and where we need to do more. As a result of all this input you will also see and hear more about how we have re-framed our D and I ambitions through the stories we share here. Being candid, it’s clear that we still have a lot more work to do, we have strengthened our leadership in the D and I space, and we have important initiatives like our inclusion allies and our ethnicity action plan to really get momentum. Now I believe Axa will become an increasingly inclusive and therefore more attractive place to work for all, with people empowered to authentically be themselves, that’s a future that I am excited about and I will put all my effort into making it a reality.

Know You Can.
