AXA Pride

Empowering everyone to be 100% themselves at work

We want everyone to feel comfortable being themselves in the workplace and able to reach their full potential. With this in mind, we entered the UK Stonewall Workplace Equality Index in 2019, which has helped us to understand how to move forward and where to focus our efforts. We’ve been busy since then, launching our Trans Equality and Transitioning at Work Guide, holding workshops on LGBT+ inclusion (both on and offline) and increasing the number of development opportunities for our LGBT+ people and allies. And we won’t stop there, we’re always searching ways to help AXA become a more inclusive workplace.

Why I joined the Axa pride employee resource group

Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Cathy Jenkins. I am an SME sales consultant and I am part of the Axa pride ERG. What is AXA Pride? Axa pride is an employee resource group, we are here to support anyone that needs our support and also raise awareness of equality in the workplace. Why did you decide to become a member of AXA Pride? My son who is 19 years old, came out as gay in 2017. Then when I found out that AXA actually has an ERG to support the LGBT+ community I felt that I needed to join. Why is being a member of AXA Pride important to you? I feel that every person in the LGBT+ community should feel empowered to be proud of who they are. What are the benefits to you of being a member? It gives me a great sense of achievement and it also makes my son really proud that his mum will not only stand up for him but will also stand up for anyone else that needs it. AXA. Know You Can.

"Being part of AXA Pride is important to me as a member of the LGBT+ community. I want to represent and show others that at AXA you can bring 100% of yourself to work."
