We’re looking for curious, motivated, and enthusiastic degree students to join our paid summer internship programme.  As an Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on business insight, helping you to develop key skills and experience. We have exciting and varied opportunities across our Commercial Insurance function. The internships will run from June to September 2026.

Our Summer Intern opportunities

Marketing in Bolton or London: Build marketing and analytical skills by assisting in the deployment of AXA’s Sustainability Strategy.  You’ll promote AXA’s Climate School through the curation and creation of materials, tracking engagement and other activities to support activation of the strategy.

Claims Supply Chain in Bolton: You’ll conduct research to understand future claims supply chain needs and external drivers that may require business responses, through the evolution of strategies. Working with cross functional SMEs, you’ll gain an understanding of the internal perspective on business strategy and change drivers.

Risk in Bolton: An opportunity to develop testing and communication skills, by supporting our Customer Outcome Testing team.  You’ll conduct testing across key business areas to identify issues, document the results and communicate findings to improve customer outcomes.

Commercial Business Strategy in Glasgow: Assist in developing strategic initiatives and market intelligence frameworks, to enhance decision-making using data analysis, market research, and stakeholder engagement.

Underwriting Pricing & Portfolio in London: Opportunity to work with our Underwriting, Pricing and Portfolio team on an enterprise level project that supports the evolution of Underwriting.  You’ll also develop wider knowledge of the insurance industry as a whole.

Claims in Bolton: You’ll explore various opportunities across the Commercial Claims function, to support business improvements and gain insights into claims processes and sub-functions.

Risk Engineering in Glasgow: You’ll develop problem-solving, data, and risk management skills to support process efficiency projects and risk factor assessments, for emerging customer processes.

Distribution & Trading in London: Support our Distribution team through a range of potential activities, including data analysis, market research, event planning and process improvements, while gaining insights into customer engagement and the financial industry.

Distribution & Trading in Manchester & Bolton: Support our Distribution team through a range of potential activities, including data analysis, market research, event planning and process improvements, while gaining insights into customer engagement and the financial industry.

Delegated Authority Partnerships & Artificial Intelligence in Bolton: You’ll analyse opportunities to incorporate AI into business processes, providing fresh perspectives on technology strategy, whilst developing stakeholder management skills and technical knowledge.

What you’ll bring:

  • Currently studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or have graduated within the last 12 months.
  • Must be available for the full duration of the internship from mid-June to September 2026 on a full-time basis (35 hours per week) in one of the nominated locations listed above. 
  • Passion, creativity and a growth mindset.
  • Curiosity, like to challenge the status quo and ask questions.
  • Desire to learn from some great experienced leaders.
  • Appetite to develop a career in the insurance industry.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously with resilience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Analytically minded with problem-solving skills. 

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

You’ll need to live within a commutable distance of your offered location. That way you’ll get to spend time with your team in person as well as virtually, with access to the right support networks internally to help you to succeed.
