We support millions of customers worldwide, helping them navigate life's uncertainties with confidence.

AXA Commercial protects businesses, from multinationals to micro start-ups, giving them the confidence to thrive.

Job overview:

Reporting directly into the Chief Distribution Officer, this is an exciting high-profile role as a key member of the AXA Commercial senior leadership team. Your leadership will drive market engagement strategies that fuel AXA Commercial’s profitable growth and ambition. In this senior role, you’ll lead strategic development of our broker engagement activities through marketing, broker development and events. You’ll oversee their implementation to boost broker engagement with the AXA brand, propositions and product portfolio. Additionally, you’ll ensure marketing activities align with corporate objectives, increasing trading levels and supporting business growth. Regular travel across the UK is expected.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to development and implementation of strategic business unit strategy. Create a marketing strategy which clearly differentiates AXA from our competitors and drives growth.
  • Oversee development and execution of brand strategies and activities that align with AXA UK & Ireland and AXA Group brand objectives.
  • Drive constant innovation through key broker and market events and propositions.
  • Control and manage internal and external functional budgets and financial performance.
  • Ensure AXA develops and maintains market-leading relationships with key brokers, using deep understanding of broker needs to support business growth.
  • Develop and maintain a broker segmentation model with clearly defined propositions to produce profitable GWP (gross written premium) growth for each distribution segment.
  • Overall responsibility for creating and maintaining a series of broker-facing events and activities to drive engagement and growth. Ensure internal events drive our own people engagement and understanding of strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with AXA strategic business units and AXA Group so market opportunities and cross-selling are optimised. Identify and build effective relationships with internal support functions to deliver superior service to customers.
  • Own digital marketing strategy and stay ahead of industry trends to adopt emerging technologies, appropriate AI (artificial intelligence) usage and best practice to elevate marketing efforts and drive productivity.
  • Represent AXA Commercial confidently in public forums, trade media and develop strong industry connections.

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

Your skills & experience:

  • Senior business to business (B2B) marketing experience within a commercial insurer is needed.
  • Deep understanding of commercial insurance market structure and dynamics is required.
  • Proven track-record of successfully managing multi-faceted marketing initiatives to support strategic objectives is essential. This includes broker events, brand awareness, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sponsorship activities.
  • Outstanding leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills – experience of leading diverse teams across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of leading edge developments in Financial Services, especially data-based marketing, AI tools and platforms.
  • Brand management experience.
  • Outstanding ability to develop and maintain internal and external business networks.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
