Job overview:

You’ll lead the strategic communication and engagement approach for a portfolio of transformation and change initiatives. Working in partnership with senior leaders, programme teams and people change specialists, you’ll translate complex change into clear, cohesive and audience-led communication that builds understanding and confidence across the business. Operating as a trusted advisor, you’ll shape the narrative, sequencing and audience approach, and provide frameworks, planning and quality assurance to ensure activity is aligned and effective.As part of new change communications capabilities within Internal Communications, you’ll work closely with Head of Change Communications to embed a consistent approach, build organisational capability and ensure change communications are joined up across the organisation. You’re someone who is comfortable starting from scratch, including relationships, process and tools. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be a senior communications adviser within change and transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leaders, transformation directors and people change specialists to shape the positioning and narrative of changes.
  • Provide strategic counsel on colleague impact, sentiment and engagement risks.
  • Develop compelling change narratives aligned to overall AXA UK & Ireland change narrative.
  • Translate complex programme detail into clear, accessible and consistent messaging that all colleagues can understand and relate to. Ensure alignment with wider AXA UK&I priorities.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive communication and engagement plans to facilitate change and transformation deliverables.
  • Anticipate resistance and ambiguity, recommending proactive engagement interventions to hot spots / risk areas.
  • Assist senior leaders with messaging frameworks, briefing materials and communication toolkits to bring alive change in their areas.
  • Work closely with the broader Internal Communications team to ensure change messages are effectively integrated across all colleague channels and touchpoints at a UK&I and business unit and functional level.

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. You’ll work in our London office on a regular basis. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

Your skills & experience:

  • Significant experience in change and transformation internal communications and engagement is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience advising senior stakeholders on communications and engagement for complex organisational change is required.
  • Proven ability to shape change narratives and simplify complexity for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience developing communication strategies for large-scale change programmes.
  • Advanced stakeholder mapping and audience engagement capability.
  • High emotional intelligence and excellent influencing skills.
  • Outstanding commercial and organisational awareness.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and manage ambiguity.
  • Experience working within matrixed and multi-stakeholder environments.
