Join AXA UK as a Finance Systems Transformation Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function. In this leadership position, you’ll oversee the delivery of key transformation and change initiatives within our Finance function, particularly those impacting on our systems. Your responsibilities will include managing strategic projects, implementing mandatory reporting changes, maximising the use of group finance tools, and driving process improvements that lead to greater efficiency and simplicity across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across AXA UK and the wider group, ensuring the successful delivery of complex finance transformation projects. You’ll be at the forefront of innovative initiatives that support our business objectives, enhance operational effectiveness, and deliver measurable value. If you’re a strategic thinker with a proven track record in finance systems and change management, we’d love to hear from you.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and define multi-million pound Finance system transformation and change programs, managing cross-functional work-streams and interdependencies across AXA UK, with sponsorship from Executive Leadership Team (ELT) level executives.
  • Coordinate interfaces and manage interdependencies within AXA UK and with external stakeholders such as third-party vendors, regulators, and industry bodies to ensure seamless solution integration.
  • Assume Business Application Ownership (BAO) for key strategic Finance applications, providing leadership, guidance, and oversight on operational and strategic matters affecting platforms like AMI, SAVI, ASTRA, and Copernic LIL.
  • Approve user access, data retention policies, testing results, and business verification to ensure application integrity and security.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for change management initiatives impacting Finance systems, overseeing delivery, safeguarding reporting accuracy, and managing the yearly change budget.
  • Develop solutions for issues affecting Finance applications and data through negotiation, effective communication and escalation.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, lead diverse project teams through all project stages, and ensure delivery of desired outcomes aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage and develop a team of Finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth through coaching, training, and performance reviews.

Due to the number of applications we expect to receive for this role, we reserve the right to close this advert earlier than the listed closing date to ensure we’re able to effectively manage interest. Therefore, if you’re interested in joining us at AXA, please don’t hesitate to apply.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in programme and project management, with a track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects from inception to realisation of benefits.
  • Strong grasp of UK GAAP and IFRS standards relevant to the insurance sector.
  • A deep understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements for insurance companies and their integration into broader business operations.
  • Knowledge of the Finance Strategy, Grow28 initiative, and insights into the wider insurance market landscape.
  • Ability to effectively manage and control resources (physical, financial, human) for project work to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, including influencing, negotiating, and building effective informal networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams within a matrix organisation.
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent with significant post-qualification experience, complemented by relevant industry certifications such as Prince2, CSPO, or SAFe Product Owner.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
