What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and develop the AXA UK Group Compliance and Regulatory function, cultivating a team of compliance professionals committed to upholding our high standards and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with business units to embed compliance into daily operations, ensuring teams understand their regulatory obligations while focusing on delivering exceptional value to our customers.
  • Define and direct the compliance strategy, integrating regulatory, conduct, and reputational risk considerations into business decisions to support sustainable growth and operational resilience.
  • Establish and maintain robust compliance frameworks that meet FCA and PRA requirements, proactively adapting to regulatory changes and emerging risks in the insurance landscape.
  • Provide ongoing assurance to the AXA UK Board and Senior Management on compliance levels, delivering clear reports on key regulatory and conduct risks, and facilitating effective governance.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for first-line teams, guiding them in navigating regulatory obligations while equipping them with insights and best practices to support informed decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key regulatory bodies, including the FCA and PRA, ensuring timely, accurate communication that reflects AXA’s commitment to compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay ahead of industry developments and participate actively in relevant forums to influence regulations, ensuring AXA UK remains proactive in its compliance approach.

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience in a compliance leadership role within the insurance or financial services sector, with a deep understanding of applicable regulations and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing high-performing compliance teams and fostering a culture of accountability and ethical behaviour.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior management and business teams effectively.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a history of successfully managing compliance and conduct risks in a complex, commercial environment.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
