Are you a dynamic and results-oriented leader with a passion for sales and team management? At AXA Health, we’re looking for an experienced Sales Team Manager to join our highly successful team in Bournemouth. In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee a team of sales agents who connect with customers to offer tailored Private Medical Insurance cover options. Your leadership will be vital in guiding our agents to meet individual sales targets and customer KPIs, while ensuring full compliance with relevant policies and procedures. This isn’t a typical Team Manager role; you’ll be working in partnership with a dedicated experienced Sales Manager to ensure the success of your team. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern: Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 9am and 6pm with an early finish of 2.30pm on Fridays, no evenings or weekend.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborating with the Sales Manager to identify training and coaching needs within your team. As a group devise appropriate training plans, ensuring implementation and monitoring progress.
  • Conducting 1:1’s with team members and facilitating team meetings.
  • Managing team HR issues including absence, performance reviews, succession planning and all conduct and capability issues, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
  • Management and development of your team through motivation and effective skills development.
  • Working with agents to ensure quality levels are maintained and addressed.
  • Effectively using MI to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate plans.
  • Building sound working relationships across all departments.
  • Becoming a key part of the wider sales management team and sharing best practice.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in managing a high performing sales team within an FCA regulated environment.
  • Experience in managing performance, behavioural and absence issues to successful resolution.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to set objectives and plan.
  • Ability to make fair decisions when under pressure whilst considering the wider impact before acting.
  • Highly adaptable to change and managing multiple priorities.
  • Analytical and methodical with sound problem solving skills.
  • Sound communicator with the ability to show empathy and negotiate.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and determined with the ability to manage own workload and those of others.
  • Team player, resilient and ambitious with a determination to succeed.

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
