Job overview:

This is a 12 month FTC position supporting management accounting functions within AXA. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of month-end accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Your role will involve producing accurate financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting activities in Anaplan, and maintaining strong relationships with offshore teams, expense partners, and auditors. You’ll play a key part in ensuring financial controls are adhered to and that management information provides clear insights into business performance. Working closely with the Expense Analyst Team Manager, you’ll help deliver high-quality expense management support across the business, enabling senior leadership to make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of all month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Ensuring that the month end flash report is accurate and updated correctly prior to daily month end meetings together with commentary where relevant which will bring clarity to Senior executives on the business performance.
  • Ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and up to date with relevant commentary.
  • Production of Capital expenditure/Depreciation reports ensuring that capitalisation policies are adhered to.
  • Completion of separate department monthly cost analysis schedules explaining movements to Budget/forecast.
  • Ensuring that the monthly cost allocation process is run correctly and accurately.
  • Reconciling inter-company transactions
  • Reconciling subsidiary company movements
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting for business units in Anaplan
  • Building and maintaining relationships with offshore team, expense partners, cost centre managers, and auditors, support external audits and remediation of audit recommendations

Work arrangements:

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your skills & experience:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA Part qualified, or qualified by experience, or equivalent
  • IFRS knowledge with strong technical accounting skills
  • Experience of management accounts production, capitalisation processes and reporting, and expense allocations.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency in Anaplan
  • Professional services finance experience or familiarity with non-IT cost centre accounting (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement at senior levels
  • Strong commercial acumen; proactive, resilient, and able to deliver under pressure
  • High integrity with confidential data handling; strong governance mindset
  • Ability to work with offshore teams, expense partners, cost centre managers, and auditors
