We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Construction Design Management & Safety Manager, if you’re passionate about building safety, legislation and making a tangible impact, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. As a Construction Design Management & Safety Manager you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our operations and stakeholders.

In this dynamic role, you’ll design and implement robust processes aligned with CDM and health & safety legislation, ensuring compliance across our Claims Operations Teams and partner functions. Your expertise will help shape our policies, support high-value building claims, and represent AXA in industry forums, all while ensuring our commitment to safety and regulatory excellence.

At AXA we work smart, this role is non-office based meaning you can predominantly work from home or if in a field-based role, you’ll travel to visit offices or client sites as required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Design and document relevant requirements and processes of CDM and Health & Safety legislation that could arise within our internal Claims Operations Teams and with our Supplier functions.
  • Developing and enhance the control framework in relation to Building Claims compliance to Construction Design Management.
  • Set up and conduct audits/reviews to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement in relation to CDM and Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Design, implement and test control processes that ensure AXA meet its legislative and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide technical support and training to the internal Surveying Team, Claims handling teams including Desk Top Validation and external Suppliers as appropriate.
  • Lead any complaint and dispute resolution, investigating sites to report and make recommendations as appropriate.
  • Support the structural aspects of high value and complex buildings claims as appropriate, particularly in direct building repair networks.

What you’ll bring:

  • Chartered Member of IOSH membership is essential.
  • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme, Asbestos Awareness Qualification would be highly beneficial.
  • Previous construction and CDM experience with demonstrable expertise under CDM regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of building challenges including contractor contract variations.
  • Experience in managing and auditing supplies and contractors is an essential requirement.
  • Highly organised, detail oriented and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Exposure to the insurance industry would be highly beneficial.
  • You’ll be confident in communicating findings to our stakeholders.
