Finance
Finance is central to all the activities of the wider business. Usually, our teams are attached to particular business units, but we also operate at a Group level where it makes sense to do so. Our main responsibilities can be divided into four main areas:
Financial Reporting and Control
Colleagues in our operating companies, the wider Group, shareholders and analysts alike all rely upon the Financial Reporting and Control teams to give an objective view of the performance of AXA UK. The teams make sure our reporting is consistent, accurate, relevant, understandable and efficiently prepared.
Business Partnering
Our Business Partners get to understand the performance of our operating units in detail, providing insight and making challenges where appropriate. AXA's CEOs expect them to set budgets, control costs and monitor achievements against targets. They also help the business to understand the impact their decisions will have on financial results.
Financial Management
We need to structure our activities across the AXA UK Group to achieve the best possible results and maximise the potential within our balance sheet. Much of this work is done by our tax and treasury functions, but we also work alongside the Life and P and C Finance teams to generate ideas that bring additional value.
Risk and Opportunity Management
The future may be uncertain, but AXA is always equipped to deal with the challenges that may arise. Our Risk and Opportunity Management experts calculate how much capital we need to cope with expected events and also identify opportunities for our businesses.
