Commercial Lines Underwriting Team

At AXA Insurance we manage all the Group’s commercial insurance policies for a wide range of customers. At one end of the scale, we can work with micro-businesses, while at the other we can handle multinational risks in the areas of property, liability and motor cover.

AXA Commercial Intermediary deals with our ultimate customers through brokers, while AXA Solutions provides a service to customers directly.  We are based throughout the UK, with primary sites in Glasgow, Bolton, London, Birmingham and Leeds.

Our underwriters play a crucial role assessing the risk of each application before deciding on appropriate pricing, terms and conditions that will deliver the financial protection our customers need. They also work closely with the offer development and strategy teams to enhance existing products and develop new ones.

Meanwhile, our Head Office Underwriting Teams set our technical approach, strategy and philosophy, as well as handling our largest customers and most complex exposures. A key part of the role is fine-tuning our approach after analysing our exposures to make sure we continue to deliver the return our shareholders require.
