Actuarial Internship Programme

applications ended: 01/12/2017

"It’s been a fantastic experience working with people who have been a great source of help, offering a helpful ear and suggesting ways of overcoming any problems I encountered."

In 2016, AXA Group’s total revenues were almost €100.2 billion. Impressive, we think you’ll agree. It also demonstrates the importance of effectively assessing financial risks, designing and pricing products, and calculating the amount of money we need to set aside now to be confident that we’ll be able to meet our liabilities when they fall due. That’s why actuaries are so important to us. Actuaries make financial sense of the future. They apply mathematical, statistical and economic models and provide us with expert investment advice.

We challenge the conventional and embrace the new. We always have done, we always will. And, we believe in doing everything we can to help young people get into the financial services industry. Our competitively paid internship is a fast track to our Actuarial Graduate Programme.

Typical placement programme

During your paid placement, you’ll gain invaluable first-hand, on-the-ground insight into the AXA business. Your placement will be in our Reserving department where you’ll work closely with AXA people – including senior leaders – on real projects.

Who should apply?

Our internship programme is aimed at penultimate year undergraduates or Masters students. You’ll need good A-Level results and you should be on course to, or have achieved a 2:1 degree (or above) in a highly numerical subject. It goes without saying that you’re analytical and methodical as well as able to communicate your technical knowledge to influence others. Potential’s massively important to us and we'll expect you to be a quick and keen learner. Whatever your background, you’ll need to be prepared for the high level of mathematical content and training required to become an Actuary.
