The big clue to our Business Leaders programme is its title. Its aim is to develop the leaders of the future by giving them hands-on business experience that accelerates their development.
How important is this programme to us? Put it this way, it's sponsored by Amanda Blanc, AXA UK and Ireland Group Chief Executive, and Amanda takes a keen, active and hands-on role. But Amanda isn't the only senior leader involved in the programme: a different senior leader sponsors each of the development modules, and you'll get to hear from them – and spend time with them – throughout the two-year programme.
Typical placement programme
Your programme is tailored to you and only you. You could, for example, be looking at user experience for AXA Insurance, working as an Expense Reporting Analyst for AXA UK or helping AXA PPP healthcare to explore new digital marketing communications channels. But wherever you join us, you'll be doing a real job while enjoying – and benefiting from – exceptional development opportunities and exposure to senior leaders. We'll challenge you every day and we'll expect you to challenge us, too. You'll also have the opportunity to rotate between AXA operating companies and, potentially, even go on an international assignment.
Who should apply?
We'd like you to have a 2:1 degree (or above) in any discipline. But that's not all. We need curious, creative thinkers. Those who are naturally inquisitive and digitally savvy, with a good grasp on technology. As well as the big thinking, the ideas that will change the financial world and help us to constantly improve the way we care for our customers, you do the basics brilliantly. You love a challenge too. Which means that obstacles don't stay obstacles for long. And responsibility? Bring it on.
Rewards and benefits
You'll start on a basic salary of at least £26,000 a year (reward review pending). You'll get a £1,500 pay increase (and receive a performance-related bonus) at the end of each completed placement within your business area. You'll enjoy 25 days' holiday, company pension scheme, share options and, if you're relocating, we'll help out financially with that too. And it's only right that we give you a healthy discount on AXA products.
Learning and development
This two-year programme is made up of three eight-month placements – placements in different AXA operating companies and, in some cases, even at an AXA office overseas. From the off, you'll get involved in challenging, stretching work, in a supportive and stimulating environment. We also send all of our new graduates to our Global Headquarters in Paris where you will spend one day mixing with other AXA graduates from around the world and hearing from our Global Leaders. You will then spend an additional two days at a chateau outside of Paris that doubles as one of our learning centres, where you will work on core elements of graduate development together.
Through our Business School environment, your learning and development will be structured too: through on-the-job learning and by working closely with experienced colleagues, through workshops, webinars, online learning tools even business games, you'll build your capabilities, skills and knowledge, from how you work with others, to leading people, to strategic thinking. And because we all learn in different ways, we'll help you to gain the skills you need in the way that works best for you – accelerating your personal and professional development. As well as incredible support, when and where you need it, we'll give you the professional building blocks, the know-how and the insight. In other words, everything you need to become an impressively well-rounded future leader.
